3BC
Three Black Crows. A bearish reversal signal: three consecutive decisive bearish candles, each closing below the previous close, each opening inside the previous candle's body, with only small lower wicks. Paints purple. Only fires when the trend before the sequence was bullish.
3WS
Three White Soldiers. A bullish reversal signal: three consecutive decisive bullish candles, each closing above the previous close, each opening inside the previous candle's body, with only small upper wicks. Paints electric blue. Only fires when the trend before the sequence was bearish.
ATR
Average True Range — a standard measure of current volatility. Artemis Pro expresses its size filters in ATR multiples, so a "large" candle or move always means large relative to current conditions, not in raw points.
Bar Close
The moment a candle finishes forming. Artemis Pro evaluates all patterns on bar close, so a closed candle's color and label never change afterward. While a bar is still forming, its state is provisional.
Bars Left / Bars Right
The pivot-detection widths for swing lines. Bars Left (default 10) sets how many bars to the left must be lower (for highs) or higher (for lows); Bars Right (default 3) sets how many confirming bars are needed to the right. Bars Right is why a liquidity line appears 3 bars after the actual swing.
Bias Label
The ICT Daily Bias module's visual-only readout: a compact Bias: Bullish or Bias: Bearish label for the current day. Context, not a signal — it does not color candles, print labels, or feed the data-window series.
BnR
Bump and Run Reversal Bottom. A bullish-only capitulation signal: a gradual decline accelerates into a much steeper drop, then a strong bullish candle closes back above the previous candle's high. Paints mint. Deliberately rare, and the one signal that does not run on the HTF mini-candles.
Body Dominance
How much of a candle's total range its body covers. Artemis Pro uses body-to-range percentages as filters throughout: pattern legs typically need at least 50 percent body, trend flips need at least 30 percent, and momentum candles need at least 60 percent.
CDO
Current Day Open. The opening price of the current trading day, drawn as a translucent gray line with a right-edge tag. Fixed when the day begins; price above it is trading at a gain relative to the open, below it at a loss.
Clean Break
A touch of a liquidity line where the candle closes through the level in the breakout direction instead of rejecting it. Clean breaks are timestamped too: a candle that snaps back through a just-broken level within the next couple of bars still registers as a liquidity grab.
Confirmation Lag
The delay between a swing forming and its liquidity line appearing — 3 bars by default (the Bars Right setting). It filters out pivots that immediately fail, at the cost of never showing a line on the bar that created it.
CWH / CWL
Current Week High / Current Week Low. The developing extremes of the current week, drawn in cyan. They move whenever the week prints a new extreme, and on historical bars they are drawn at the week's final extreme from its start — treat them as live context, not as backtestable levels.
Data Window
TradingView's right-hand panel showing plot values for the bar under your cursor. Artemis Pro exposes 15 series there: the 12 pattern signals, Setup Long, Setup Short, and Trend Direction. All are deterministic on bar close.
Decisive Candle
A candle whose body is at least 30 percent of its range. Only decisive candles are allowed to flip the trend — through the SSL channel, the quick switch, or a momentum move.
Drawing Budget
TradingView's cap on how many drawings a script may keep alive. Artemis Pro declares the platform maximum of 500 lines and 500 boxes, and manages its swing lines in a rolling set of at most 100 active lines, dropping the oldest first.
ES
Evening Star. A bearish three-candle top: a decisive bullish candle, a small middle candle with an upper rejection wick, then a bearish candle closing deep back into the first candle's body. Paints orange.
Expiry (Max Age)
The removal of an unfilled liquidity line once it has gone more than a set number of bars without being touched — 100 by default, via the Max Age (Bars) setting, so a line is still live on its 100th bar and is removed on the 101st. On a 5-minute chart that is roughly a full trading day.
Grab Window
The short window that opens when a liquidity grab is registered: the grab bar plus the four bars that follow it. A trigger pattern completing inside the window confirms a Setup Long or Setup Short.
Grace Period
The two bars after a pattern-forced trend flip during which the SSL rule may not flip the trend back against the forced direction, as long as price keeps confirming the new side. It protects an instant flip from instant whipsaw.
Hide Filled
A Swing Lines setting (default off) that deletes mitigated lines entirely instead of freezing them in place, keeping the chart focused on levels that are still live.
HK
Hikkake. A two-sided trap signal: an inside bar, a fake breakout through one side of the mother bar's range, then a close beyond the opposite extreme. Paints yellow. The direction of the signal is the direction of the close, against the fake break.
HTF Candles
Up to four higher timeframes rendered as groups of mini-candles to the right of price (defaults: 15m, 1H, 4H enabled; daily off). Each group runs a slightly reduced version of the main pattern engine with the same colors and labels.
HTF Info Table
The on-chart table with one column per enabled higher timeframe: the timeframe, a live countdown to candle close, the current candle direction, and the active pattern signal. The footer row carries the indicator version.
HTF Levels
The higher-timeframe reference levels Artemis Pro keeps on the chart: CWH, CWL, PWH, PWL, and CDO, each anchored at its true origin with a compact right-edge tag.
Indecisive Candle
A candle whose body is under 30 percent of its range — mostly wick, little conviction. Its body is filled with a contrasting color (black in an uptrend, light gray in a downtrend) while wicks and borders keep the trend color. One is a pause; many in a row are chop.
Invite-Only Script
TradingView's access model for private indicators. Access to Artemis Pro is granted per TradingView username; the script runs from TradingView's servers and there is nothing to download or paste.
Liquidity
The cluster of resting orders — stop-losses and breakout entries — that accumulates around obvious price levels such as swing highs and lows. Price is drawn to these clusters, which is why levels get swept.
Liquidity Grab
The event Artemis Pro is built around: price sweeps a drawn level, takes the stops behind it, and closes back on the original side. The wick is the grab; what follows is frequently a sharp move the other way, powered by trapped traders exiting.
Liquidity Line
A horizontal line drawn from a confirmed swing point: red resistance lines from swing highs, green support lines from swing lows. Lines extend until mitigated and expire after Max Age if untouched.
Mitigation
The moment price returns to a previously untouched liquidity line. The line stops extending and freezes at the touch — and mitigation is when Artemis Pro checks whether the touch was a clean break or a liquidity grab.
Momentum Candle
A decisive candle (body at least 60 percent) that closes at least 0.15 ATR beyond the prior high or low. It flips the trend on the spot — internally, with no special color, label, or series entry. The thresholds are fixed.
MS
Morning Star. A bullish three-candle bottom: a decisive bearish candle, a small middle candle with a pronounced lower rejection wick, then a bullish candle closing deep back into the first candle's body. Paints cyan.
Opening Range
The first 60 minutes of a session, wrapped in a gray box. Its high and low are projected across the rest of the session as dashed red and green lines — the session's reference levels.
Pattern-Forced Flip
The trend engine override that fires when a reversal pattern confirms on bar close: the trend flips to the pattern's direction immediately instead of waiting for the moving averages to cross.
Pivot
A confirmed swing point: a candle counts as a swing high when the configured number of bars to its left and right have lower highs (mirrored for swing lows). Pivots become liquidity lines.
PL
Piercing Line. A bullish signal: a decisive bearish candle, then a bullish candle opening strictly below the prior close (exactly at it does not count) and closing above the midpoint of the prior body — but not above the prior open. Paints emerald. Sits at the bottom of the priority chain.
Priority Chain
The fixed ranking that resolves every bar to one color and at most one label when several patterns are true at once: BnR > TLS > 3WS/3BC > HK > TOU/TOD > MS/ES > PL, with the plain trend color below every pattern.
PWH / PWL
Previous Week High / Previous Week Low. The final extremes of the last completed week, drawn in amber. Fixed throughout the current week — the stable weekly liquidity references.
Quick Switch
The range-breakout rule that keeps the trend color honest during fast moves: a close beyond the last three highs flips the trend up immediately (mirrored for lows), even before the close clears the SSL channel.
Repaint
A signal changing after it printed. Artemis Pro patterns evaluate on bar close and do not repaint intrabar; the moving parts are documented explicitly — swing lines confirm late by design, CWH/CWL develop live, and the newest HTF mini-candle is still forming.
Session Box
The drawing for one of the three major sessions — Asia (00:30–07:00 UTC), London (08:00–16:30 Europe/London), New York (09:30–16:00 America/New_York) — each in its own fixed time zone, with an opening range box and projected session high/low lines. The New York levels also carry a dotted after-hours extension from 16:00 to 17:00 New York time.
Setup Long / Setup Short
Artemis Pro's highest-confluence condition: a trigger pattern completing inside a fresh grab window (or fast-rejecting a tagged level), with no opposing unmitigated liquidity in the way. The label prints large and the state appears in the Data Window. A confirmed setup is still not an instruction to enter.
Signal Label
The compact letter code a pattern prints next to its candle — below the low for bullish signals, above the high for bearish ones. Label size is information: large means the pattern fired within about 3 bars of a liquidity grab or level break; small means it fired on its own.
SSL Channel
The core of the trend engine: a simple moving average of the highs and one of the lows, both over the Trend Speed period. A decisive close above the SMA of highs flips the trend up; below the SMA of lows flips it down; inside the channel, the trend holds.
Sticky Trend
A second reading of the trend that only updates on decisive candles and freezes during indecision. It drives the indecisive body fill, which is why a string of indecisive candles keeps one consistent fill color instead of flickering.
Sweep
A push through a marked level that triggers the stops resting behind it. If price closes back on the original side, the sweep becomes a liquidity grab.
TLS
Three-Line Strike. Three consecutive candles pushing one way with progressively new extremes, then a single counter-candle engulfing all three. Detected in both directions: the bullish strike always paints white, the bearish strike paints pink. Top of the priority chain.
TOD / TOU
Three Outside Down / Three Outside Up. Three-candle engulfing sequences: a direction candle, a strong engulfing candle, then a confirmation candle closing beyond the engulfing close. TOD is bearish (deep orange); TOU is bullish (indigo).
Trend Speed
The SSL channel period — how many candles the two moving averages use (default 10). The most influential trend setting: lower switches faster and hugs price, higher switches later and rides through more noise.
Version Footer
The bottom row of the HTF info table, the only place on the chart where the indicator version appears. Check it before reporting an issue — support will ask for it.
